Easy-To-Make Decorations for Thanksgiving Dinner
By Karen Perkins
With so much going on in the kitchen on Thanksgiving Day, it is easy to overlook what goes on the table before the food gets there. Make sure you set a festive holiday table with these easy decorations. They are simple and quick, so you won’t lose any time in the kitchen.
- Lay a piece of burlap (or similar fabric) down the center of the table as a table runner. Gather each end, tie with ribbon and insert a few dried or silk leaves.
- Cut out leaf shapes from fall-colored paper. You can find template online or just make your own. Write a guest’s name on each one and you have an instant place card.
- Tie napkins with raffia, twine or ribbon. Add some extra paper-leaf cutouts or silk leaves to continue the fall theme.
- Fill a tall glass vase with acorns and arrange bare tree branches inside. If you want, you can tie ribbon around the vase or add a few leaves to the branches to give color to this easy, natural centerpiece.
- Surround your centerpiece with pillar candles wrapped with ribbon or strips of scrapbook paper.
